Initial D es una serie de manga sobre carreras callejeras japonesas creado en 1995 por Shuichi Shigeno. Ésta tuvo una adaptación animada en 1998 y que duró, dividida en 5 temporadas y varias películas y OVAs, hasta el 2024; la cual tuvo canciones de Eurobeat como parte de la banda sonora durante sus carreras de alta velocidad. Se lanzaron muchos álbumes bajo la serie Super Eurobeat Presents conteniendo el sountrack del show.
La serie también inspiró varios memes donde las canciones de esta aparecen sobre autos derrapando o chocando a gran velocidad. Las canciones más conocidas son "Running In The 90s" de Max Coveri, "Gas Gas Gas" de Manuel, "The Top" de Ken Blast y, por mucho, "Deja Vu" de Dave Rodgers.
En el 2003, el anime tuvo su primer intento de traerlo a américa por parte de la compañía Tokyopop, quienes realizaron la adaptación al inglés, la cual removió todo rastro del soundtrack original de Eurobeat y lo reemplazó con canciones malísimas de Hip-Hop, Rap y Electrónica genérica, todas hechas por el CEO de la empresa. Esto por suerte no ocurrió con los doblajes Latino (del 2005) y doblaje Castellano (del 2008). En el 2010, la serie fue adquirida por la ya difunta Funimation (actualmente Crunchyroll), quienes realizaron un redoblaje (del inglés) de las primeras 4 temporadas, respetando la banda sonora original.
