"When The Sun Goes Down" (En español: "Cuando cae el Sol") es una canción interpretada por Jessa Stebbins bajo su alias Ken Blast. Fue producida en el 2009 y debutó en el álbum compilatorio "Super Eurobeat Vol. 201 - Extended Version" el 3 de Marzo del 2010. Tiempo después, en el 2022, fue lanzada dos veces como un sencillo digital: El primero fue un maxisencillo como parte de la serie Eurobeat Masters Singles el 25 de Agosto del 2022; y el segundo fue uno en solitario para plataformas de streaming el 25 de Septiembre. La canción fue escrita y compuesta por Jessa Stebbins con Vincent DeGiorgio y producida por Laurent Newfield, Odyssey y Clara Moroni.

Trasfondo[]

En el 2009, a la edad de 20 años, Stebbins comenzó a trabajar para Delta Music Industry, donde fueron sus primeros pasos en el ámbito profesional. Convirtiendo a "When The Sun Goes Down" en la primera canción que escribió y cantó profesionalmente.

Sin embargo, originalmente la canción solo estaba escrita y compuesta por ella e iba a llamarse "When The Wolves Sing" (Cuando cantan los Lobos). Ésta versión original tenía una letra e intro distintas. Dicha versión estaba a punto de ser aceptada, pero pasó a manos del músico canadiense Vincent DeGiorgio, quien la re-escribió, renombrándola a su nombre final, "When The Sun Goes Down". Tras eso, se le fue enviada a Laurent Gelmetti para que la produjera, quién también hizo algunos cambios a la versión final. El resultado final, curiosamente, reúsa una de las viejas producciones de Gelmetti en Delta, "If You Stay With Me" de Sara, reusando una parte de la intro y el pre-riff para "When The Sun Goes Down"[1].

La canción originalmente se planeó para ser lanzada en el álbum "Super Euro Freak Vol. 2" a finales del 2009, pero se las arreeglaron para que fuera inluída en el álbum "Super Eurobeat Vol. 201 - Extended Version", en Marzo del 2010.

Según Stebbins, la versión final de la letra parece evocar la superación o la huida de un escenario de pesadilla indescriptible con varias criaturas maliciosas[2].
