Aleph was originally an Italo-disco group, consisting of Giancarlo Pasquini, Marco Manzi, and Donato Bellini. Pasquini provided the vocals on all of their songs. The group was founded in 1981, and it played in clubs until its first single, In Your Eyes (1984).
Behind the names of Manzi and Bellini there were two true composers and authors, Giancarlo Pasquini and Luigi Raimondi, who wrote, composed, and arranged not only all the original Aleph songs, but the countless other songs signed with the names of Manzi and Bellini, all this because the real authors at that time were not yet registered with the SIAE. There was also a third uncredited composer who was Marco Gulinelli.
The original Aleph run ended when Giancarlo Pasquini moved from Time Records to start A-Beat-C in 1990. In 1991, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Aleph, he covered In Your Eyes under the new alias "Manzi-Bellini".
From 1996 to 1997, Aleph returned at A-Beat-C, and Paolo Campitelli provided additional vocals.
In 2018, Giancarlo Pasquini revived Aleph by himself; Manzi and Bellini did not return, and neither did Campitelli. Even Luigi Raimondi was not involved.
