Avex Group Holdings, Incorporated (エイベックス・グループ・ホールディングス株式会社), known simply as the Avex Group, and formerly known as Avex D.D., Incorporated and later Avex. Incorporated (エイベックス株式会社), is a Japanese entertainment conglomerate founded in 1988 by Masato "Max" Matsuura, Tatsumi "Tom" Yoda and Kazunari "Ken" Suzuki. Avex is an acronym for Audio Visual Expert.

The Avex Group has been a major player in the Eurobeat world since its inception.

History[]

Avex Group, originally established on April 11, 1988 as Avex D.D. Incorporated (エイベックス・ディー・ディー株式会社, Eibekkusu Di Di Kabushiki Gaisha) with Masato "Max" Matsuura and Kazunari Suzuki (first president and representative director) among other two executives, was established as a wholesale distribution company for imported records. In 1989, Tatsumi "Tom" Yoda, who had been an advisor since then, was brought in as a manager.
