Eurobeat Wiki

"Discord" is a song by Jessa Stebbins under her alias Eurobeat Brony, featuring Odyssey. It made its first album appearance in Super Ponybeat Vol. 2 on August 7th 2011.

Over the years, "Discord" became in one of the most known songs performed by Stebbins and of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fandom in general. It became famous mostly because the remix made by The Living Tombstone in 2012, version that was covered by several artists and in various languages. The song was also remixed by Lavender Harmony in 2013, and Stefano Castagna at SCP Music in 2014. Additionally, Stebbins made two remakes of this song in 2015 and 2019, both reusing her vocals from the original version.

In 2025, Giancarlo Pasquini performed a cover of the song, under his alias Dave Rodgers, alongside Stebbins herself.

Descriptions[]

Original Release[]

Discord didn't have a theme song in Season 2. So I made one for him. I tried to make this one reflective of his characteristic sense of humor and cunning, with a dash of villainy for good measure (and the fact that he's, well, a villain).

Eurobeat-wise, it's much like late Time pieces (in fact, it borrows a great deal from "Speed Man" by Dave Simon), but jumps between a couple other genres in light of Discord's distaste for consistency. Which genres? You'll have to listen~

2015 Version[]

I've wanted to re-make Discord for quite some time now, if only as a reflection of the kind of progress I've made as a musician since I put the original together.

Now that today, October 10, is the fifth anniversary of MLP:FiM's first episode, which predates my first release somewhat, I thought I'd celebrate by finally unleashing it on the world. Video coming soon. <3

You've all been the very best fans a musician could ask for, and I'm glad to finally reward your patience. [If you are interested in a 24-bit WAV/Lossless version of Discord 2015, please contact me.]

2019 Version[]

  • Taken from its single on Bandcamp.

Discord 2019 comes from an effort to give BronyCon's final year something special to enjoy— as I was the last performer on the last night on the last concert, I had to have something special up my sleeve to bid everyone the fondest farewell. I had other surprises in store, but due to the nature of concerts in general, I had to cut my set short and call the final shot as I saw it. Many of you were there to join me in that joyous moment, and I can't thank you enough for it.

But the reasoning goes beyond any convention— I'm genuinely grateful for the mind-blowing track record the original and its most notable remixes have received in the last eight years. If you had told me nine years ago that not only would I be making original music about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but that one of those songs would explode across the internet, I'd probably have laughed at the idea. But now, looking back on it… I don't think I could have it any other way.

So, whether you've been around since the earliest days of the show or have no idea what this song has to do with a dragon-ish trickster, I hope you enjoy the newest version of Discord.

Special thanks to:

  • The Living Tombstone - for being an incredible sport after elevating the original in such a unique way.
  • Lavender Harmony - for being a stellar friend and mentor in production.
  • Stefano & Evelina at SCP Music - for fulfilling a lifelong dream of mine, in remixing an SCP fan's song into a bona fide, genuine SCP eurobeat track.
  • Anyone who has remixed, spliced, warped, shared, or just plain enjoyed any versions of Discord over the last eight years. This includes you~

[Intro]
Muhahahaha
Muhahahaha
DISCO-O-ORD!
DISCO-O-ORD!

[Verse 1]
I'm not a fan of puppeteers but I've a nagging fear
Someone else is pulling at the strings
Something terrible is going down through the entire town
Wreaking anarchy and all it brings

[Pre-Chorus]
I can't sit idly, no, I can't move at all!
I curse the name, the one behind it all...!

[Chorus 1]
Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

DISCO-O-ORD!

[Verse 2]
I'm fine with changing status quo, but not in letting go
Now the world is being torn apart
A terrible catastrophe played by your symphony,
What a terrifying work of art!

[Pre-Chorus]
I can't sit idly, no, I can't move at all!
I curse the name, the one behind it all...!

[Chorus 2]
Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

[Prologue]
I've tried to record something that sounded
deep and introspective for this intro
for a couple of takes, now...
...it's not really working.

I've tried thinking about the nature of creativity,
referencing when this song first came out, or...
any number of things.
They all came out to be garbage takes.

I think the problem is I'm trying too hard to be
deep or edgy, or even to make sense of something, but...
I don't think it's working.

Maybe I should take my own advice. After all...
...what fun is there in making sense?
[Laughing]
