Emanuela Gubinelli is an Italian vocalist, composer and songwriter who is known outside of Eurobeat world as Taleesa. She has worked for Flea Records, Time Records and Delta.
Gubinelli has worked with many of producers such as Laurent Newfield, Sergio Dall'Ora, Giorgio Spagna, and Luca Pernici within the Eurobeat scene.
According to her biography as Taleesa, she was born into an Italian household with 2 brothers and 1 sister, under strict conservative parents, who didn't allow her much freedom. However, this did lead her to study piano and guitar heavily, and thus give her a love of music.
However online, it is debated whether or not much of the story is true, as according to The Eurodance Encyclopedia, some claim that most of her biography was made up for marketing purposes, including the fact she was said to be born in Santa Ana, California, USA, and that her boyfriend from Santa Monica, CA, USA, was helping her with English lyrics; however, recently in a comment on Instagram, she would state that she was from Manhattan Beach, California[1].
Some of her most famous Eurobeat successes include "Be My Babe" as Jilly, a song featured in Initial D, and "Go Godzilla Go" as Ika, for its use in many rhythm games.
She currently lives in Milan.
