- Not to be confused with Hero (Ken Martin Song).
"Hero" is a song by Giancarlo Pasquini under the collective alias Aleph, and released on the groups second album Take My Life (1989). It was initially released as a single in Italy in 1989 and later in Japan on March 25th, 1990, serving as the album's second single. "Hero" was written by Marco Manzi, and Donato Bellini, while production was handled by Giacomo Maiolini.
It was one of the songs Pasquini had ghostwritten under the names of Marco Manzi and Donato Bellini, as his status as a songwriter was not registered with the SIAE (Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori) at that time.
Lyrics[]
[Intro]
Hero
Hero
[Verse 1]
(I) don't like to be your friend
'Cause I can do much better
Can give you many more things
To prove you I'm your man
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Why should I give in and be a loser
Can't you see that all I want
Is your love so I'm gonna change and make
Another start
[Chorus]
I'd like to be your hero
Tell me my feeling's right
And I guess you won't mind
Sometimes zero
Spending the rest of my life
Like your hero not only your lover
[Verse 2]
(I) don't want to be a toy
You're using just to play with
A toy you drop or break
To prove yourself you're strong
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Why should I put up with my big lot
Can't you see that all I want
Is your love so I'm gonna change and make
Another start
