Initial D Best Song Collection 1998-2004 is the 20th Initial D album. It was released September 3rd 2005 and published by Avex Mode. It features much of the non-Eurobeat music featured in Initial D, but also includes a few Eurobeat songs. It had a limited edition, which came with a third disc featuring some of the most popular Eurobeat tracks from the anime.
In 2024, it is planned to be released a sequel of this album, titled as "Initial D Best Song Collection 1998-2014", which features almost the same tracklist, plus the opening and ending themes of the rest of the series appeared after 2005.
The album peaked at number sixteen on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart with 21,041 units sold in its first week.[1][2] It remained on the charts for a total of 18 weeks, eventually selling an estimated 65,118 units.[3][4]
