Eurobeat Wiki
Not to be confused with Lupin (Alias).

"Lupin" is a song by Roberto Gabrielli under the alias Lupin. It is the first song under the alias and the only one Gabrielli sang. Produced in 1998, the song was released that year on a customized CDr single in 1998. Then, it was then released together with the other three songs ("Your Love Again" by Knick Knack, "Sky High" by Lucyfer, and "Man Of The Moon" by Mark Foster) in a vinyl compilation EP called 'BBB EP 7' that was released by Boom Boom Beat in 2000; and made its first album appearance in "Dancemania Euro★Mix Happy Paradise" on March 1, 2000. Later the song was released in a digital maxi-single on SAIFAM Group's Bandcamp on July 1, 2024.

This is one of a number of songs with the same names as the alias that they are under. Some other examples include Suzy Lazy, Idol, and Tokyo Future. As the first Lupin song, it acts as an "introduction" to the alias.

The song is an uncommon in Eurobeat in that it seems to be explicitly about a gay romance. The song's lyrics could reference the popular anime series Lupin the III.

Lyrics[]

[Verse 1]
Hey, you, man of the dark
Boom, boom, a fighter
Playboy, you steal the hearts
You light the fires

[Pre-chorus]
Danger everywhere, confusion
Where is Lupin?
You are goin' away, looking for freedom now
You'll be my hero

[Chorus]
Lupin, Lupin
Run into the night
And you keep the story alive
Lupin, Lupin
(A) flash into the night
All your life into the crime
Lupin, this is Lupin

[Verse 2]
Hey, you, king of the night
Bang, bang, gunfires
Hey, man, walk on my side
Deceiving liar
