Manuel Caramori, more commonly known as just "Manuel", was an Italian singer, songwriter and producer. He also used a variant of his surname, Karamori, as a stage alias.
His first published song was “I've Got To Go”, from Super Eurobeat Vol. 141 in 2003, at the young age of 20. Since then, his creations quickly gained considerable amounts of popularity with his energetic male vocals. His most popular song is Gas Gas Gas, which was featured in the Initial D series.
He eventually moved on from Eurobeat, working as a piano vocalist and guest entertainer on cruise ships. He announced on July 10th 2023 through his Facebook profile that he intended to return to Eurobeat between 2023 and 2024.[1]
His death was announced August 30, 2023 by Roberto Gabrielli, the facebook account of SCP Music made a statement about his passing the next day. His family decided not to make his cause of death public.
Career
Manuel Caramori's professional career into the Eurobeat genre began in 2002. At the age of 19, he discovered that Rodgers Studios, based in Mantova, was a mere six miles from his house. Upon learning this, he journeyed to the studio with a demo tape he had recorded with a progressive metal band in hand. To his surprise, he was greeted by Dave Rodgers, when he knocked on the studio's door. While Rodgers was uninterested in the contents of the demo CD, he recognized the remarkable potential in Caramori's vocal abilities as showcased within it. Within the same week, an audition was arranged between the two, resulting in Caramori recording his first track, "Feel The Night".[2] This track was submitted to the Avex Trax label in Japan, intended for inclusion in their many Eurobeat compilation series. However, it remained unreleased until January 8, 2020, where it was finally released on Super Eurobeat Presents Initial D Dream Collection Vol. 3, 18 years after the track was originally created. Caramori's official debut in the Eurobeat scene occurred the following year in 2003 where he debuted with "I've Got To Go" which was released on Super Eurobeat Vol. 141 and later on a 12" maxi-single.[3]
