Maurizio De Jorio is an Italian singer and DJ from Trento, Italy. De Jorio became involved in mainstream musical production in the mid-1980s.
Maurizio was scouted by Gino Caria in Mantova, who would bring him to A-Beat-C in 1990, recording his first song titled "Love & Celebration" as David Essex, which was produced by Dave Rodgers. He would then begin working mainly with Andrea Leonardi, with "Lost In The Time" as Casanova in 1992.
In 1995, he moved with Leonardi to Delta Music Industry, recording songs like "Money Go!", as Marko Polo, and "Music Forever", as D.Essex, in 1996, and releasing on the first Delta's vinyl release. Later in 1997, Maurizio recorded his two most famous songs, "Night Of Fire" under the alias Niko, as a last minute replacement for Edoardo Arlenghi, and "Running In The 90s" under the alias Max Coveri.
