"Number One" is a song by Ennio Zanini under his alias Fastway, being the first song under the alias. Produced by Stefano Castagna and written by Castagna and Evelina Somenzi in 1997, the song was first released in "Eurobeat Flash Vol. 19" on July 16, 1998, then it was released together with other three songs: "Jam Jam Jam" by Kiki & Kika, "Back Into My Arms" and "Into The Light" by Christine, in a vinyl single released by Double Rec. in 1999. Later it was released again with a New Generation edit of "You Can Light My Fire" by Madison and Spacelove also by Fastway, in the vinyl album "Super Eurobeat Presents 12" Collection Vol. 3" released by Avex Trax on December 14, 2005.
The song was covered three times: First by the J-pop group Tokyo Purin in 2000 under the new name of "No. 1 ～輝け乙女～". Later in 2008, Zanini covered the song together with Cristina Tosi (under the alias Christine) in 2008 with the name of "Number One (Stardust 2008 Version)", and in 2014, Zanini covered the song again as a Hyper Techno song under the new name of "Number One (Hyper Techno Version)".
