"Number One" is a song by Ennio Zanini and the first under his alias Fastway. Produced in 1997, the song was first released in the compilation album "Eurobeat Flash Vol. 19" on July 16, 1998, then it was released together with other three songs: "Jam Jam Jam" by Kiki & Kika, "Back Into My Arms" and "Into The Light" by Christine, in a vinyl single published by Double Rec. in 1999. The song was produced and composed by Stefano Castagna and written by Evelina Somenzi, his wife.

Later it was included together with a New Generation edit of "You Can Light My Fire" by Madison and "Spacelove", also by Fastway, as part of the vinyl album "Super Eurobeat Presents 12" Collection Vol. 3", on December 14, 2005.

The song was covered three times: First by the J-pop group Tokyo Purin in 2000 under the new name of "No. 1 ～輝け乙女～". Then in 2008, Zanini covered the song together with Cristina Tosi (under the alias Christine) with the name of "Number One (Stardust 2008 Version)", and again in 2014, Zanini covered the song again as a Hyper Techno song under the new name of "Number One (Hyper Techno Version)". In 2019, the J-Pop group EGG All Stars covered the song in Japanese too.
