- Not to be confused with Sophie Sanz.
Sophie was a female alias originally used by Elisabetta Pancera at Power Records (a sublabel of Time Records), only for the song "Broken Tale" in 1986. Later the alias moved to Time Records proper; Cristina Sartori took the alias and sang one song, "Same", in 1987. After that, the alias was adopted by Elena Ferretti in 1989, who performed all later songs until the last one produced in 2006.
Sophie is one of Time's most prolific aliases, with 47 songs over 20 years. There have also been four albums. Many producers have worked on these songs, including Mauro Farina, Laurent Gelmetti, Sergio Dall'Ora, Luca Degani, Luca Pernici, and Davide Di Marcantonio.
Some of the most famous Sophie songs are "My World", "Soft Time", "Lonely Love", and "Don't You (Forget About My Love)".
The alias should not be confused with the late English musician of the same name or Sophie Sanz.
