"Speedway" is a song by Maurizio De Jorio under the alias Niko. Produced in 1999, the song made its first album appearance in "Super Eurobeat Vol. 101" on January 1, 2000; followed by being released as a vinyl maxi-single by Delta that same year. It was written, composed and produced by Andrea Leonardi as Bratt Sinclaire.
Due to Leonardi's dismissal from Delta, since 2008 the song's license has been transferred to SinclaireStyle together with many other songs produced and/or written by Andrea Leonardi at Delta.
It's a Speedway, flowing in the veins
And I feel alive oh yeah!
When the pilots are, just about to cry
I drive faster
[Verse 1]
My life on the Speedway
My hands on steering wheel
Risk of racing in my eyes
As fast as cannonball
Engine's like a wrecking ball
Yellow moonlight in the sky
[Pre-Chorus]
Push and never look back
Push and never give up tonight people say
All my energy and
All my knowledge are yelling loud into my brain
[Chorus]
On my Speedway, in the pouring rain
I want to survive oh yeah!
When the pilots are just about to die
I like pushing
It's a Speedway, flowing in the veins
And I feel alive oh yeah!
When the pilots are just about to cry
I drive faster
[Verse 2]
Friends are waiting for me there
With no chances to know where
I will suddenly come from
Silent people at the beat
Pray the lord to drive me neat
And to lead me safe back home
There is a print error in the rear cover of the single, where it says the first track in the B-side of the single is the Instrumental version, and the Radio edit is the second track; but in the actual vinyl the tracks are inverted.
Andrea Leonardi made a video detailing his writing/composition process for the song.
