The song was composed by Giancarlo Pasquini and written by Alberto Contini, with production credits going to the former under his alias Dave Rodgers.
The song was released on a 12" vinyl single on October 9, 1992 by A-Beat-C in Italy, and rerelased as a digitized vinyl rip on April 30, 2021, alongside "Techniques Of Love" on its B-side. "Sunshine" made its first album appearance on Maharaja Night - Hi-NRG Revolution Vol. 4 on January 21, 1993.
A Garage Mix of the song was released on a promotional vinyl by Avex Trax the following year along with the other Norma Sheffield songs remixed in the Garage House genre: "Look Me In The Eyes" (Do It Properly Mix) and "Touch Me Touch Me" (Ken's Favorite Garage Groove).
