TMN Song Meets Disco Style is the debut studio album released by Giancarlo Pasquini under his alias Dave Rodgers. Released on September 23, 1992, by Avex Trax, the album consists of English Eurobeat covers of selected songs released by the Japanese band TM Network from 1986 to 1991. Ten songs were included on the album, five of which were released as singles: "Wild Heaven", "Get Wild", "Come On Everybody", "Come On Let's Dance", and "Love Train". These singles were released as 12-inch singles in Italy by A-Beat-C, while "Get Wild" and "Wild Heaven" were released together as a Mini-CD single in Japan. TMN Song Meets Disco Style debuted at number nine on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart with 36,300 copies sold.[1] The album later went on to chart for a total of 8 weeks and sold around 100,000 copies.[2][3]

A techno version of the album was released the following year under the new title Get Wild Meets Techno Style (1993).

Background[]

The concept for the album originated in 1991 when Ryuhei Chiba (later vice president of Avex Group Holdings) introduced Max Matsuura, founder and at the time CEO of Avex Group, to songwriter, producer, and artist Tetsuya Komuro at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. Matsuura proposed a project titled TMN Song Meets Disco Style, envisioning a remix album of TM Network songs in a Eurobeat style. Initially hesitant due to Avex's emerging status, Komuro feared the songs wouldn't garner widespread attention beyond existing fans.[4] However, Matsuura's suggestion to target new audiences led Komuro to eventually agree to collaborate with Avex. This album served as a catalyst, linking Avex with Komuro, who later formed the successful pop band TRF and other groups such as globe, and produced and wrote songs for numerous top-selling Avex-associated artists, contributing to Avex Trax's growth with numerous hit songs and record sales.
