The song was written by Farina and Giuliano Crivellente, with production credits going to themselves. It was recorded and mixed at Factory Sound Studio.
The song was released on a 12" vinyl single in 1988, by Time Records in Italy. "Time After Time" made its first album appearance on Non Stop Italian Disco Mix "Discomagic Hits" on March 21st 1989, followed by the Japanese single release by Canyon International in 12" vinyl and mini CD formats the same day.
